London bombing
This has developed into a major disaster. Reports from a contact at the Royal London Hospital, which is just one of a number of hospitals that are likely to be dealing with the casualties, suggest that the place is like a war zone. People arriving with missing limbs, lost eyes and reports of double deckers being used to get people to the hospital as they cannot cope using the ambulances. Some 30 fatalities reported at that hospital alone.

Maybe because it's such a contrast to the euphoria of yesterday or because of the bombs being within walking distance of my flat, but they feel so much more immediate and saddenning than other bombs I've been caught up with when in London (Harrods in '83 and Bishopsgate in '92.)
I suppose the only thing to be thankful for is that given where they went off, no more people were killed.
Oh, and respect to Red Ken: "You will never win, no matter how many of us you kill, becuase we do not tell people how to live, and people want freedom".
