I just had a look on kawasaki.com and observed that the US list price for a new Ninja ZX6 (i.e my bike) is $7,999, i.e just under £5,000 at current exchange rates. UK list is over £7,000 and realistic best OTR discounted price is about £6,300. Maybe I should move to the States after all. I hear there are some nice roads in Southern California.

Just to remind myself to have a look at this later. I am told that it may be amusing.

Another good one from the obviously barking judges in the United States.
After wheelie school, we went to Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at the Jazz Cafe. They were excellent. Swing it baby. Only trouble was, I was extremely dehydrated and burnt from a day in the sun, so it took me a while to get into the swing of things, so to speak.
So, I did wheelie school yesterday. Teacher was Paul Gower, formely of the Royal Artilliary Flying Gunners motorcycle display team. Bikes were Suzuki 1200 bandits, geared down to make it even easier to do wheelies. And wheelies we did. Big ones. In fact, I did one that was too big and ended up bouncing it of the bar on the back of the bike that stops you flipping it. It was a fun, intense day out, but I don’t know whether I’m any nearer to being able to wheelie a trickier bike with no safety net. When I got back from my one screw–up over–size wheelie, the instructor was like (once he stopped having heart palpitations), “yup, that one would have flipped you straight off the back”. So I don’t know how comfortable I would be without the bars.
However, following discussions with Geoff, it sounds like there is some form for another wheelie school foray at some point…

V. amusing bit of judicial reasoning from our friends in the US, via Sharky. See footnote 9 on pages 14 and 15.
Pills to stop you feeling guilt. A next step on from Prozac to combat depression. An old question: is what we are just a matter of the chemical balances in the brain? How far should we go in using science to alter our inner selves?

This is interesting about how seriously America takes High School, taken to an extreme conclusion. Valedictorians? Graduations? Reunions? It’s High School, guys, get over yourselves. They’re kids. At my place, we did our exams, then after the last one we sneaked off to the pub, never to return. Who was top of the class? Wouldn’t have a clue.
