Bush in "harming country" shocker
Hot on the heels of former President Clinton “never failing to disappoint”, President Bush has amusingly declared in a speech “Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we”. Hur hur.
Out of the loop
I’m off walking in northern Italy until 16 August, so I’ll catch you on the rebound.

Wedding
Went back to the old alma mater yesterday for the wedding of Bandy and Mrs Bandy. Lovely day for it. All the very best to you both.

Midsummer Night
Went to see a Midsummer Night’s Dream at Regent’s Park open air theatre on Saturday night, having scored tickets through someone who knows one of the actors. It was a great day for it, with warm sun during the day and short–sleeve weather into the evening. Perhaps not the greatest ever production, but entertaining and a very pleasant way to spend an evening. Highlight was the great Russ Abbott, of whom I’ve always been a fan, playing the part of Bottom. Here are a few reviews:
Independent; Grauniad; Telegraph.
